Write for us

We welcome thoughtful pitches about rugby’s laws, tactics, positions, formats and club culture. A useful contribution explains one subject well without assuming that every reader already knows the game.

What we welcome

Pitch explainers, comparisons, historical background, close readings of a tactical idea and pieces about the customs and places around rugby. Aim for an evergreen subject that can help a reader understand the game without depending on a current result or a claim that needs specialist access.

A strong pitch

Send a proposed title, a short summary of the central idea, the intended reader and why the subject deserves its own article. Explain how you would handle terminology and distinguish established rules from interpretation. Mention relevant writing experience only if it is useful to the proposal; no particular credential is required.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then make clear that your message is a pitch. Unsolicited material is not guaranteed publication, and we will not treat a pitch as accepted until we have agreed to it.
